She Said Yes
She Said Yes
You said “Yes!” You’re officially engaged! So what’s next?! You may want to get a jump start on your Pinterest boards or get to looking for venues and other vendors right away. However, there are a few things you should do before kickstarting your wedding planning. Today we’re going to talk about three major things to do after your engagement. Read through for more!
Savor the Moment:
Whether you’re with friends and family or it’s just you two, take a minute (or a few) to take in what just happened. Soak it all in! Squeeze each other tight, kiss, and maybe even cry! You’re getting married! Go ahead and take this time to get a good mental picture, or real pictures, because you’re going to want to remember this time in your lives. Let your love be the focus for the day, or as long as you want.
Spread the News:
Next on the list, decide if you want to call everyone you know within minutes or if you want to keep this news to yourself for a few days. However, you will eventually have to tell people! Should you want to keep traditional etiquette, the order should be something as follows. First parents, then close family, best friends, and then any more distant friends and family. If you keep the announcements traditional or not, that’s up to you. However, you are going to want to make sure to tell those closest to you first. Especially before posting anything on social media. This is just to keep from hurting anyone’s feelings, you want to keep this time happy for both yourself and all your loved ones.
Imagine the Big Day:
Lastly, take time to dream, and dream big! There will come a time for being realistic, with the budgets and the timelines and the guest lists and the tiny details. But for now, sit with your partner and dream up whatever your hearts’ desire. Picture what you imagine to be the perfect celebration of your love. Create a vision that you both see as an amazing way to share your love for each other with all the loved ones from your lives.
For anyone who is engaged or planning on getting engaged, congratulations! I hope that these tips help you prepare and enjoy your engagement, prepare, and enjoy your wedding planning process at least bit more!
