$82.00 – wo/ Premarital Course Certificate
$22.00 – w/ Premarital Course Certificate
$47.00 – Informal Marriage (Common Law)
Requirements for obtaining a Marriage License
1. Persons applying shall appear together or before the County Clerk.
2. Each adult applicant shall submit proof of identity and age.
One of the following options must be presented:
(a) Valid U.S. issued Driver’s license or State I.D.
(b) A valid BORDER CROSSER, PASSPORT, VISA, RESIDENT ALIEN CARD will be accepted for NON-U.S. Citizens with an Original Birth Certificate.
(c) School, work, etc. photo I.D. along with an Original Birth Certificate.
(d) Expired State issued I.D. or Driver’s license must be accompanied by an original birth certificate.
(e) NO damaged, torn or deteriorated forms of identication will be accepted.
If an applicant is between 16-17 years of age, he/she must have parental consent. Minor child and parent giving parental consent must have a valid photo I.D. along with an Original Birth Certificate. Only the parent possessing full custodial rights over the minor can give consent.
If an applicant is under 16 years of age, he/sh must have a court order in addition to parental consent. Minor child and parent giving parental consent must have a valid photo I.D. along with an Original Birth Certificate. Only the parent possessing full custodial rights over the minor can give consent.
3. If applicable Social Security Number required.
4. If recently divorced you must wait 30 days from the date your decree is signed in order to apply for a marriage license.
5. Applicants cannot be related to each other as an ancestor or descendant, by blood, or adoption; a brother or sister, of the whole or half blood or by adoption; a parent’s brother or sister of the whole or half blood or by adoption; a son or sister of the whole or half blood or by adoption.
6. No blood test or witnesses required to apply.
7. The fee for the license is $82.00 in the form of cash, check, or money order.
The marriage license expires at the end of the 90-day period immediately following the date the license is issued.
The marriage ceremony may not take place during the 72-hour waiting period immediately following the issuance of the license unless an applicant is a member of the armed forces of the United States and is on active duty or an applicant obtains an waiver from a District Court.
The 72 hour waiting period is waived when the applicants present “The Twogether in Texas Certificate” where they have completed the 8 hour premarital course. Original certificate is required. The fee is $22.00.

The Marriage License expires at the end of the 30-day period immediately following the date the license is issued; if the ceremony has not been conducted within that period.
